Avin entered the alleyway and spotted a quivering man, his back pressed against the wall, his eyes full of fear. Avin snarled. That man was feeling retribution for his sins, not fear for him! Concentrating on the power swirling in his left hand, he focused on a shape and a syth formed, it's blade onyx like the pole.
Nice to meet you," Avin whispered, "Now, I'll be taking your sins away."
Adrian whirled around in her workshop, frowning as she heard the sound of screams nearby
She grabbed her 'night' goggle experiment and ran out the door.
Adrian reached an alley way, where a man was curiously pressed against a wall- it looked like he had being held up, but there was no one in sight. Adrian frowned, putting her goggles on- and gasped as she suddenly spotted the tall man intimidating the civilian
Avin didn't notice the other human, and oddity in itself, and carried on with his mission. Raising the syth above his head, he stared at the man for a moment before bringing it down. The blade easily passed through the man, but then something was forced out of the man's body. It was black, shapelss, and snarling. Avin's nose scrutched in disgust, "Well, if it's not a servent of the Devil God."
The creature hissed at him, making Avin chuckle. Despite what these creature represented, he couldn't help but find them amusing. Flicking his wrist, he quickly cut the creature in half. It screeched an unearthly sound before it's form started to disolve, the particles falling off it's form dashing to cling onto the blade. Avin closed his eyes, feeling as the creature's power became one with his. It was an odd feeling, but one that he had gotten used to over the years.
Adrian stifled a shriek as the mysterious syth sliced into the man. Strangely, there was no blood, only black...stuff. She frowned as the mans lips moved, but she couldn't hear anything. she made out the last few words "devil god' and backed up a few steps. growing up on the streets, she had learned that bravery gets you nowhere.
She still watched, curious, and the syth once again cut, but this time the black substance dissolved, and the man closed his eyes with a curious expression on his face. She decided to pull back and find out more later- hopefully in daylight
Avin jumped suddenly as something crashed at the opening of the alleyway. Spinning around he caught a glimps of a girl as she moved back toward the street.
He paled. Had she seen?
Adrian cursed, something was odd with her head- it felt fuzzy, as if all the distrustful street smarts she had gained from growing up were being suppressed. she couldn't believe that she had crashed into that garbage can.
she knocked into the wall, the strap on her goggles' left side slipping. She froze. without the goggles, the strange man was nowhere to be seen. With them, he appeared. She had thought before it was simply because of the lack of light, but now...
Dismissing the syth, Avin dashed to the opening of the alley and saw that the girl had a dazzed expression on her face. He stopped in front of her and noted that she didn't seem able to see him. Then he noticed the goggles that she must have been wearing. He watched as she picked them up and gently placed them back on. It was odd, but he had never seen a woman put something on so carefully.
Adrian flinched back as he suddenly reappeared-right in front of her face. yelping and biting back curses, she pressed into the wall.
Avin flinched back at her sudden movement, shocked by the words that flowed so effortless from her mouth.
‎ Then he froze. She saw him, that's why she freaked out! Reaching out he went to grab the goggles, determined that, if he got them away from her, she wouldn't be able to prove to anyone else that he was there.
Besides, it would be better for everyone if she wasn't able to see him.
Adrian dodged his hand, deflecting it with one of her own and slid under his arm. She didn't grow up on the streets for nothing. She started running down the alleyway, dodging into side streets. she didn't know if he was a threat, and she sure as heck was not going to stick around and find out.
Avin followed after her, determined to get the goggles away from her. If Lord Lucifer found out that a human had seen him, then his punishment was going to be so bad he wouldn't be able to do his duties!

Adrian slipped through a tiny obscure crack in a building, remembering the different escape routes she used to take as a child hiding from guards as she stole to eat.

Growing tired of the chase, Avin focused on the shadows around the girl and forced them to extend and become tangable and wrap around her form, halting her from escaping. He continued after her, pausing briefly before moving down a tiny gap between two buildings.

Adrian struggled against the black shadowy stuff, struggling and doing her best to not hyperventilate.finally she spotted the man from before- he seemed to be in control of the shadows. She glared at him, using every trick she knew to get out of tight situations to loosen the shadows as much as possible...which was absolutely futile, as shadows cannot be loosened.

Avin raised a brow as he watched the girl try and get away from the shadows, "What are you doing?"
reading his lips, Adrian glared at himand answered "I'm trapped in mysterious shadow bonds by a man who can appear and disappear. What do you think I'm trying to do?"
